Joshua Howard Behn
Born in Dorchester (Boston) Massachusetts October 23, 1980, Joshua grew up in Brockton. He is a senior at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah where he is a candidate for the Bachelors of Integrated Studies (BIS), an interdisciplinary degree with emphasis in History, Political Science, and Social Work. For his Senior Capstone Thesis Project Joshua is studying identity formation in sexual minorities living in environments of sectarian conflict, and will be collecting the oral histories of gay men in Northern Ireland who came of age during 'the troubles.' In addition to human sexuality, Joshua is interested in Peace and Conflict studies and in particular, societies post-political reconciliation. Joshua holds two associates degrees; one from the Funeral Institute of the North East, and the other from College of Eastern Utah.
A life-long student, Joshua has a passion for learning. Other passions include Russian Literature, community theatre, gourmet cooking, and visiting places of historical interest. He also has a strong interest in comparative theology, stemming from his work as a funeral director/embalmer and as a member of the Salt Lake Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (The Quakers).
